The quiet craft of woven rope and cane
Behind a simple-looking weave lie hours of patience and precision.
Weaving is a conversation between the hand and the cord. The maker must hold an even tension across the whole piece — a single misjudged strand throws off the balance of the entire pattern.
We choose weatherproof rope and genuine cane selected for consistent strength and colour, then weave it strand by strand over a pre-shaped wooden frame. A single woven piece can take several days to reach the tension and pattern we are happy with.
The result is a surface with depth — open, light, and breathable. It suits the Thai climate, and only grows more beautiful with time and use.
